Partnership
AIEST is an internationally established scientific association in the field of tourism with more than 70 years of continuity. Since its foundation in 1951, it has been connecting academic research with professional practice and creating a platform for critical, interdisciplinary, and international debate on the development of tourism.
What we offer to partners
AIEST offers partners and cooperating institutions:
- access to an international network of leading experts in the field of tourism research,
- opportunities to engage in expert discussions on key trends and challenges (sustainability, governance, destinations, systems),
- the possibility to present corporate and institutional practice with current research,
- expert dialogue on strategic documents, policies, and governance instruments,
- participation in AIEST annual scientific conferences, characterised by a limited number of participants and a strong focus on the quality of discussion,
- connections between research, education, and practice at the international level,
- visibility for institutions and organisations that actively contribute to the advancement of knowledge in tourism.
Why cooperate with AIEST
AIEST represents continuity, scientific authority, and independence in tourism research. It has played a key role in shaping fundamental concepts and definitions of tourism and continues to serve as a relevant platform for critical reflection on its development.
Cooperation with AIEST means:
- participation in an international expert community with long-term continuity,
- the opportunity to contribute to and influence expert debate on the future of tourism,
- strengthening institutional credibility in an international context,
- long-term partnership based on quality rather than quantity,
- access to discussions that connect science, policy, and practice.
AIEST is a platform for those who seek to be part of an expert debate on tourism as a complex social and economic phenomenon, rather than focusing solely on its operational dimension.
How to cooperate
Cooperation with AIEST is open to organisations, institutions, and companies that are interested in the long-term development of tourism based on data, research, and expert reflection.
Main forms of cooperation:
-
Associate Membership – for institutions and organisations wishing to actively participate in AIEST activities and attend its conferences,
-
Kindred Association Membership – for professional, sectoral, or territorial organisations whose members share an interest in the objectives of AIEST and international expert cooperation,
-
expert cooperation within conferences, workshops, expert discussions, and thematic initiatives,
-
support for research, education, and knowledge transfer between academia and applied practice.
Cooperation is not based on commercial partnership, but on the sharing of expertise, experience, and responsibility for the development of the field.
We thank our associate members for their continuous support.
